Tufts Asylum Project: Asylum Medicine Training

  • Free training and certification to perform forensic medical or psychiatric evaluations to support asylum applications
  • Open to all physicians, residents, medical students, and other health care providers
  • Attendees eligible for CME

Why:

  • Studies indicate asylum seekers who receive forensic medical evaluations are twice as likely to have their asylum cases approved
  • Maine has an extreme shortage of providers trained to perform forensic medical evaluations
